In the past the fact blacks were only given 3/4 of a vote was called unconstitutional, the supreme court ruled that it should be one man one vote. Now the Hispanics in one town get one man 6 votes? What next in this country? BeeGee, I'm about with you on thinking. I have outlived my stay here: PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Arthur Furano voted early — five days before Election Day. And he voted often, flipping the lever six times for his favorite candidate. Furano cast multiple votes on the instructions of a federal judge and the U.S. Department of Justice as part of a new election system crafted to help boost Hispanic representation. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100615/ap_on_el_st_lo/us_voting_rights_election

I can actually see what this judge is doing, and it's quite novel, to say the least.

The White folks get six votes too. As do the Pink, Green, Red, Black, Yellow, Purple and Plaid.

The plaid I would vote for myself!! But this is the problem right here: "Although the village of about 30,000 residents is nearly half Hispanic, no Latino had ever been elected to any of the six trustee seats, which until now were chosen in a conventional at-large election. Most voters were white, and white candidates always won."If they are all going to be given six votes a piece the the natural outcome would be 6 time greater that the natural flow of votes and the Hispanics will still not get anyone elected. There is skulduggery afoot here Watson so be watching for hanging chad! Edited to add: Could it also be that some of the Hispanics might just not be legal? Nasty question, eh? Nobody even thinks to question the legal standings of the other inhabitants! Wonder why that is!! Actually, that was one of the very first things I thought of...considering my agency and everything... Beside, many may be legal permanent residents, rendering them still unable to vote.

Nobody even thinks to question the legal standings of the other inhabitants! Wonder why that is!! Ever wonder about the fact any time a state wants to make a picture ID requirement to vote the democrats go into crazy mode, start talking about how it will affect the poor, the elderly, etc? What can you do now a days without an ID? If your poor you need a picture ID to get assistance. While my mother lived with me there was not a doctors office that did not require a picture ID along with her medicare card. Could it be dead people can't vote with a picture ID? Georgia beat them at their own game. Georgia lost the first time in federal court. Court ruled it would place unfair financial burdens on people who couldn't afford a state ID. Georgia rewrote the law, said all state IDs would be free if someone said they couldn't afford it. Georgia won in court that time. But what the heck, lets try 6 votes with an ID, 3 votes without and ID. I feel sure this 6 vote idea will end up in court and be overthrown. Goes against the supreme court decision of one man/woman, one vote. The last time we were invaded by Mexico we whipped their ass. Now they are invading this country, using firearms as they shoot cops and ranchers and all the politicians in both parties can think of is which one can corner the Hispanic vote by the next election.

Well BeeGee, did you ever think you'd see this? A portion of the United States off limits to American citizens because we have basically surrendered? What the sheriff says in the video describes how I feel. Since when has this country allowed invaders and crime to enter our country and the only response is put up signs telling Americans to stay away? About 3,500 acres of southern Arizona have been closed off to U.S. citizens due to increased violence at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told Fox News that violence against law enforcement officers and U.S. citizens has increased in the past four months, forcing officers on an 80 mile stretch of Arizona land north of the Mexico border off-limits to Americans. www.foxnews.com/us/2010/06/16/closes-park-land-mexico-border-americans/

When I lived in Texas I remember the don't mess with Texas bumper stickers and signs. That was in the late 60s, early 70s. They still have those signs and stickers.
