Mr. Squirrel's Holiday Nut House Mr. Squirrel's family are busy decorating their home for the holidays! Outside is a tree made out of gingerbread, with 5 gingerbread dough squirrels putting up Christmas Lights made out of licorice string and dried fruit. On the back is a chimney made out of peanuts and frosting. There is a peanut mailbox with a licorice flag up, filled with Christmas cards to be sent to their friends in the woods. There are two pistachio lanterns and sliced almond tiled entrance. At the entrance there is a walnut boot brush to brush off all that coconut on your feet before you enter. Inside are two peanut chairs, with a fireplace made out of almond bricks and sliced almond tiles, and fire made of walnuts and red licorice flames. There is sesame seed carpeting and pistachio sconces. This entry won First Place Today!! YAY! I got the idea from pcgailc's Photoshop Contest , when I was decorating the mouse house with walnuts and lights! I won a nice canvas bag, with goodies inside, including a deluxe bird house duplex that we are going to put up outside my sons window in his room! It was 3 days of a lot of work, as this was the third attempt at building it! The first two were disasters! It was so worth it now to see it built, and to see the wonder and amazement in the children's and their parent's eyes today when they were looking at the house with smiles and laughs. Here it is: i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb4/pcgailc/topfront.jpg
