Methinks thou dost protest too much.
It's not homosexuls they're against, it's sex acts taking place there. If it were a common spot for hookers to take their johns, the same argument would apply.

You are wrong on so many levels, I don't know where to begin.
I guess first I should begin by saying that I instigated the formation of the Triangle Democratic Club in 2004, so I'm about as far from being a homophobe as can be.
You gotta cool down and be logical, not emotional.
I doubt that gays are meeting each other in that parking lot in order to move on to their own homes to engage in sex--rather, I suspect that the sex acts are taking place in the lot.
Here is the portion of the article that offended you: "Officials believe a flow of nighttime traffic in and out of the 63-space picnic area on the Halifax River will discourage its use as a cruising spot for homosexuals

WTF? You take the comments WAY out of context in order to make them homophobic.
It could just as easily be suggested that you believe that homosexuals should be permitted to engage in sex in the lot. Is this in fact what you believe?

You need to step back and think about this Phoenix. They simply WILL NOT TOLERATE SEXUAL ACTIVITY , hetero or homo. This does not mean they are "banning" gays, it means they are banning sexual activity in this park that some seem to think is their sex playground. They need to go play in their own back yard. EXPLAIN "Less than desirable" activity....Less than DESIRABLE by who's standards?And when did HOMOSEXUAL Cruising become Illegal? I think you're hung up on semantics. Cruising can mean a couple of things, and I think you are using a more narrow interpretation than the writer was. Many people understand cruising as going to a place to find and have sex with other people. You, on the other hand, appear to be construing the term to mean going to a place to find other people with whom to have sex and going to another location for the sex. The former would be a huge problem, I think you would agree. The latter, not so much. BTW, are you going to Pridefest on the 25th? |

Well,at 4:30 this afternoon...I walked into the Park Men's Room(NO!Not Parks Seafood...the Southern Public Park at L.P.G.A.) & there was a FEMALE Prostitute & a Young GUY having SEX!!! I thought hmmmm.....are we HOMOSEXUALS to blame??? Once they finished up they took their SEXUAL DISPLAY to a Picnic Table. Yeah, right, Phoenix. You went there to find some hetero sex so you could make a point here, and lo and behold, there it is in living color!. Gimme a break. You've lost what littel credibility you had. Quit making stuff up, just to win a point. Wouldn't it be better to acknowledge you overstated the issue? |

Do you remember when my son was at Sunsplash park and I posted that he & his friend were being stalked there? You made the statement about the gays in the bathrooms and the pedophiles at the park. Forte didn't put those words in your mouth since that's been about 2 years ago.

Phoenix I have to side with you on this one. There is nothing illegal with cruising to look for any kind of sex. It's when you approach and offer something of value or preform the act in public it becomes illegal.
I think you would have been satisfied if the statement had read ""Officials believe a flow of nighttime traffic in and out of the 63-space picnic area on the Halifax River will discourage its use as a cruising spot for illicit sexual activity."

Tonya SUNSPLASH PARK is on A-1-A in Daytona Beach. SUNRISE PARK is on Riverside Drive,in Holly Hill. 2 Years ago I was speaking of SUNSPLASH...Forte' was commenting on SUNRISE & the overflow Parking... Just wanted to add...it ain't going to take long before someone starts breaking into cars...bad idea not having SURVEILLANCE on the Parking Lot...FORTE' seems to subscribe to the broken window theory. The more cars the Less ' Homosexuals,OK,I can live with the THIEVES moving in & taking over!!!No problem!!! B.T.W.-I rarely go beachside anymore but the problems at Sunsplash were happening in Daylight.That park CLOSES at 10 PM.Anyone found there between 10 PM & Sunrise can be asked to move along or be arrested for Trespassing...Holly Hill could put HOURS & Use Arrest Powers under a CURFEW LAW for all the parks if this was a REAL PROBLEM (Which I doubt it is). Holly Hill already has park hours & curfew laws for the parks. And, BTW, surveillance cameras have been installed at Sunrise Park for over a year now.  Tonya |

The HOURS MUST BE POSTED BY LAW....They are not (At Sunrise). MUST BE POSTED (BY LAW) IF YOU ARE UNDER SURVEILLENCE(At a Public Park) Sunrise is not.Does'nt Suprise me though-as they are in VIOLATION OF STATE DEPT OF HEALTH CODES at Sunrise as well! The HOURS ARE POSTED at SUNSPLASH. You are quite familiar with parks Phoenix. I have a couple of suggestions for you: 1. Take your sanitizer with you when you go to Sunrise Park. 2. Quit being paranoid. 3. Look into becoming a citizen awareness participant. I think you would really make a good one.

TonyaI always take my HAND SANATIZER in fact I keep a big bottle in my 2006 Mustang...Since Holly Hill either can't afford SOAP or don't want HOMSEXUALS using it all up....Like What Health Codes?HOMOSEXUALS WASH THEIR HANDS AFTER USING THE BATHROOM...I GUESS HETEROSEXUALS DON'T??  And you are so poor you drive a 2006 Mustang?  Why don't you donate some liquid handsoap to Holly Hill?
