He has proved time and time again, he is not a man of peace. I have an ancestor who burned people who were not Puritan in the early days of Boston. He was a Christian or so he claimed. When I was researching my family tree I discovered a story of a woman he burned at the stake when his Puritan group moved into the Boston area. She was a Quaker and because of her belief could not even fight back. I cried.
Terry Jones is filling a need. The need to talk about peoples fear of Islam. As long as he is willing to stand up and grab attention he will have the attention of the world to make his sick case. We as a people need to our part and invite the Islamic organization that want understand and peace into our Churches and Social Organizations to talk to us. I have found they are not going to jump down your throat for saying I am scared and I fear you. They are going to make note of similarities between Islam and Christianity because there are many. There are also major differences and Unless we talk about it then it can only get worse.

Send that Jack-ass and his congregation along with the pinheads at Westboro Baptist Church over here. Drop them right in the middle of Helmand Province. Sorry, have no use for hypocrites like them.

Amen to all the preceding posts. I am disgusted, disturbed, and saddened he did this is the name of God. I would imagine God is too.

There has to be a point where using our freedoms as a weapon against other people crosses the line of propriety and where the people involved refuse to recognize that line can be stopped short of burning their "church" to the ground with all of them in it! I see, and read of, instances where people such as these are destroying us by using the Constitution to seemingly give them the right to perform the most hideous acts. We did not fight that war to preserve the country for this. The problem as I see it BeeGee is none of these people have any vested interest in what is going on over here. If they were to take a trip over here and experience first hand, perhaps they would think first. Do any of the Westboro Baptist church or the Dove Outreach Church have anyone over here? Apparaently not, for if they did they could understand the conseqences of their actions. Seems to me they are more interested in their "15 minutes of fame"

mikeyk, with respect, I do not believe that these people, and I use the term very loosely here, would recognize anything short of their twisted ideas. We, Americans, are not the end all for the world. There are many, I would say most, countries that do not want to be Americans or live in a Democratic society. We are too arrogant in our approach to these foreign countries and have little respect for their unique societies which has gotten us into too many problems because of our ignorance and arrogance. In order to fully appreciate the world's diversity you have to go to their county and observe first hand. These different societies didn't evolve in a vacuum. I'm off my soap box now but things of this nature have bugged me for what seems to be forever. Have a safe trip home!! I fully agree with you BeeGee, you can't go into a country such as Afghanistan and force Democracy or anything of the like on them. This is a 13th Century country for all practical reasons. Our time as a Nation to try and Democritize the world is over . We are too despised for the past attempts at it. However, when the People of these lands start taking matters into their own hands and are yearning for Democracy, as in Egypt, Tunisia, etc, I find it refreshing. The only way it can come about is from within, not from without. But we as a Nation, and the rest of the free world for that matter , should be willing to assist and support such efforts. BTW, welcome back, still looking forward to a beer and a few lies.

We are on the same page here but with a single caveat and that is that the US should not be leading the charge. The UN which has cost us a big part of our treasury should be forced to assume the roll that it was created for otherwise we will be spinning our wheels and creating more hatred for us. Going to go out on a limb here, in my opinion, both the UN and NATO are antiquated and in dire need of an overhaul. Nd yes, I too am getting tired of the US constantly footing the bill for these involvements. It is time for others to assume the reins. Seems the only country that is being the smart one is China, or am I wrong on that assumption?

In agreement with both of you specially the part of us footing the bill. I do know Dove has several retired personnel affiliated with them. When he wanted to burn the book last year he got several retired guys to stand by him at a press conference. The biggest tell will be tomorrows service. I will be watching to see if there is a decrease in attendance. I believe there will be. Nothing like public attention to turn a spotlight on.

How about those people speaking up and condemning the acts of terrorism that people of their faith (and only their faith) perform. Other than a few Mid-Eastern (so called) leaders that do the obligatory condemnation after an attack, you here no complaints from the Muslim masses. I believe they secretly like the acts of terrorism (in the name of Islam) their fanatical brothers perform. You can't appease these people, they actually think us weak when we speak! A bomb in their lap is what they understand! By the way...dont'cha' just love them drones!

Yep, I agree...let them deal with their country and quit forcing our will upon them. How true MikeyK. Let these people deal with their problems themselves. Humanitarian assisstance should really be 'Humanitarian Assistance' and not a banner we operate from behind. Your above quote reminds me of a quote: "The way to defeat America is from within." Kinda' looks like that is slowly happening.....doesn't it?

Only if we as a Nation allow it to happen. We have the tools in place to avert such a thing happening. The problem is that these precious tools are in the hands of self-centered fools that we elect on a continual basis. If we as a Nation ever wake up, we can take our Country back and bring it to it's former Glory.

MAK your words are no different from any extremist's. Hate is spread with words. You don't hear what you don't want to hear and when you depend on the news then no real picture. There are Mosques all over the US who do stand up but since they are not calling for an A Bomb to be dropped on kids they don't make the news. When this all started and I was over there in the evacuation camps I did not meet one person who needed to die.
