As well there should be. Corruption such as is alleged here has no place in our political system. Whoever is convicted of providing political favors for money and gifts should be thrown out of government and prosecuted to the full extent of the law whatever their party affiliation. It's reminiscent of the dark days of Abscam in which numerous democrats and a few republicans were caught red-handed taking bribes from undercover FBI agents.

Anywhere that great power exists, a certain amount of corruption will undoubtedly rear its ugly head. Thankfully, we are a society that doesn't tolerate it.

What's lost here is that we have a justice department, run by republicans, that is investigating its own. I'm sick over this whole fiasco, but I'm proud that we have a justice department that won't let politics stand in the way of justice.

Or are you saying, that even though the Justice Dept is run by Republicans, the political affiliations will not be considered whilst investigating and prosecuting corrupt politicians?
