The same laws that allow them to protest allows groups like patriot guard and angle wings do what they do. If we outlaw one we outlaw the other. That is why we can't declare what they do illegal. I don't know about you but I am tired of the double standard in this country and codifying it into law turns my stomach as much as the Westboro Baptist Church does. Don't we have enough discrimination? Every single time we remove a freedom from one group of people we remove it from all of us. Someone will find a way to use it against people of good will, they always do. IF you want to end what the so called church does then take the fight to their doorstep and the community they live in. There are already shop keepers who do not do business with them, find a way to support those people so others feel safer doing the same.

Oh no argument from me on the good AND THE BAD that comes from freedom of speech. I've said that myself. You can't want one and not get the other.
But that's not my point.
They are interrupting family funerals. Funerals that are not public affairs and...when you take away the obvious need for privacy to grieve and mourn.....these families also PAY for the funerals.
Why can't these people be charged with harassment? Or invasion of privacy?
And if they can't....I don't care if a car mows them down or someone takes them out some other way. I'm not saintly and these people cause me to rage. Fuck em.

Since when have funerals been private? Umm Never. As long as a public funeral notice is published they can not be called private. As long as they are not by invitation only they can not be private. These idiots don't enter the cemeteries or the funeral home. They are on public right aways. You can't make something illegal just because you don't like it. Just because it makes you Rage doesn't make it illegal.

I like the hot bullet idea personally. But finding a way to hit them in the pocket book would be more legal. Some groups have start protesting outside the church and there are a few neighbors of the church who get legal permits to have parties at that time with live rock bands and loud noise to give them a taste of their own bullshit. The biggest thing is to find a way to prevent them from getting paid by the state for taking pro bono work. If they have no means of income then they can't go around protesting.

True I've read they sue anyone who stands up to them. But I don't think they can survive on that alone. I do know they take a huge number of probono work for Kansas and the county that Topeka sits in. The city no longer gives them work from what I am told. The church has around 71 members mostly people related to Phelps. He has a gay son who came out against him and claimed abuse. The Phelps family is one of the most hate in America some headlines read and I believe it.

Hence, my question that started this topic. I wish God would stop them in their tracks with a nice big lightening bolt.
